Guillem Balague gives Man United hope of signing Barcelona superstar
Neymar is leaving the door open for a transfer to Manchester United, according to Guillem Balague
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has said that Neymar is leaving the door open for a potential transfer to Manchester United from Barcelona this summer.
The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a big-money swoop for the Brazilian in recent months and are said to have tabled a world record £139m bid for the Barcelona star last summer.
United’s stuttering form this season has inevitably caused them to be linked with a host of players in recent weeks as the summer transfer window draws ever nearer.
Neymar continues to be touted as a possible target for the Premier League outfit as Louis van Gaal considers strengthening his attacking options at Old Trafford.
Now, Balague has suggested that Barcelona may not have the necessary finances available to keep Neymar at the Camp Nou on his big-money salary.
Speaking in a Q&A session with fans on Sky Sports, Balague said: “Barcelona cannot afford to give new contracts to Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar as it stands – financially they do not have the power to do so.
“They need to bring a lot of money in, if they do that they will be able to keep them, but if they don’t they may have to get rid of one.
“That’s why Neymar keeps leaving the door open for United and others.”
United travel to Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday.
