Ian Wright says Arsenal don’t have the determination and the drive to win the Premier League title this season.

The Gunners suffered a demoralising 3-2 loss to bitter rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal simply do not have the drive and determination they need

The north London side are five points behind leaders Leicester City after the Foxes secured a late win against Norwich City at King Power Stadium 24 hours earlier.

Tottenham Hotspur kept the pressure on Claudio Ranieri’s side after a 2-1 comeback win against Swansea City as Arsenal lost to United.

Speaking on Match of the Day 2, former Arsenal striker Wright ruled Arsene Wenger’s side out of the title race following their Old Trafford loss.

“All season they have had the opportunity to get a consistent run going and put the other teams at the top under pressure,” Wright told BBC Sport.

“But they have not been able to do that yet – they have already had one wobble at the start of 2016 where they failed to score in three out of four Premier League games and only picked up three points.

“At the moment Arsenal simply do not have the drive and determination they need.”

Arsenal were 2-0 down after 30 minutes after 18-year-old United striker Marcus Rashford scored twice for the hosts.

Danny Welbeck halved the deficit before Ander Herrera restored United’s two-goal cushion at Old Trafford.
