Jack Wilshere delivers latest Arsenal injury update ahead of Bournemouth trip

Jack Wilshere is hoping to make his return to action for Arsenal in the coming weeks

Jack Wilshere has revealed that he is feeling fitter by the day as he closes in on making his first appearance for Arsenal this season after another injury-hit campaign for the midfielder.

The England international has been out of action since August after suffering a hairline fracture to his left fibula during pre-season training and undergoing surgery to correct the problem.

Wilshere will be desperate to return to action as soon as possible as he bids to stake his claim for a spot in Roy Hodgson’s England squad for the European championships in France in the summer.

And the midfielder has revealed that his rehabilitation is going well as he bids to make his return to action in the coming weeks.

Wilshere told Arsenal Player: “[My recovery is] going well.

“I’m back on the pitch and I’m just trying to build my fitness up because everyone knows how tough it is to play in the Premier League. I’m working on it and I’m slowly getting there.

“Sometimes it’s been difficult to stay positive, especially after the injuries that I’ve had which have been frustrating, but as the injury goes, you get closer to full fitness and you see the light at the end of the tunnel, then you start to think about coming back and getting involved in the team.”
