Jamie Redknapp makes prediction about next Chelsea, Man United managers

Jamie Redknapp says Mauricio Pochettino would be a perfect candidate for Chelsea or Manchester United

Jamie Redknapp believes that both Chelsea and Manchester United will strongly consider Mauricio Pochettino as a candidate for their next manager following his sparkling season with Tottenham.

Pochettino watched his Spurs side move up to second place in the Premier League table on Sunday afternoon thanks to an impressive 2-1 win over Manchester City at Etihad Stadium.

Spurs are being touted as genuine contenders for the Premier League title this season and currently trail leaders Leicester City by just two points heading into the final 12 games of the campaign.

Manchester United are believed to be on the lookout for a potential successor to Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford, while Chelsea will look to replace interim boss Guus Hiddink in the summer.

And former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp feels that Pochettino would be a good fit for either of the Premier League clubs.

Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Redknapp said: “This summer it looks like Chelsea and Manchester United will be looking for new managers. They would be mad not to look at Pochettino.

“He ticks every box an owner requires. He plays good football, gives kids a chance and gets his teams so fit and organised. His substitutions at the Etihad were attack-minded and won the match.

“And, importantly, it’s not all about him. He proves you can still be a top boss without being arrogant.”
