Jesse Lingard takes to social media to reflect on Manchester United's 1-1 draw at Chelsea on Sunday
Jesse Lingard has taken to social media to insist that Manchester United deserved to beat Chelsea after Sunday’s 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
Lingard opened the scoring for United in stunning fashion when his turn and shot into the top corner beat Thibaut Courtois early in the second half.
United looked to be heading toward a vital win, but Diego Costa managed to find a way past David De Gea as the Spain striker netted a stoppage-time equaliser for the home side.
Lingard was clearly frustrated to see United squander the lead so late on in west London.
And the United attacker posted the pictures above on his personal Instagram account on Monday morning, writing: “Deserved the win, so disappointing to concede at the end but a lot of positives, lads performed well. always happy to score @manchesterunited #DABBERMAN #DAB”
Louis van Gaal’s men now turn their attentions to their trip to Sunderland in the Premier League on Saturday lunchtime.
Sunday’s draw left Manchester United fifth in the table and six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
