Jose Mourinho to take over as Man United boss on this date – report

Jose Mourinho has reportedly agreed a deal to take over at Manchester United in the summer

Jose Mourinho has agreed a deal to take over as manager of Manchester United on 1 July, according to reports in Spain.

There has been plenty of speculation about the future of Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford following United’s inconsistent form this season.

Mourinho has long been touted as a potential successor for Van Gaal at United after the Portuguese coach was sacked by Chelsea in December following the Blues’ disastrous start to the season.

With the news that Pep Guardiola will be taking over at Manchester City in the summer, the focus has turned to United and whether they will look to make a managerial change at the end of the season.

Now, Spanish newspaper Marca claims that Mourinho has struck an agreement to take over at Old Trafford in the summer.

The report goes on to say that Van Gaal will leave his post as United boss on 30 June, with Mourinho officially set to take charge on 1 July.

Manchester United are currently gearing up for their Premier League trip to Chelsea on Sunday and the media speculation surrounding Van Gaal’s future is likely to do little to help their preparations.
