Jurgen Klopp replies when asked if Liverpool will sign anyone on deadline day
Jurgen Klopp gives little away when quizzed about Liverpool's remaining transfer plans
Jurgen Klopp remained coy when quizzed on Liverpool’s remaining transfer plans in the build-up to Monday’s deadline.
The Reds have been heavily linked with a number of players in recent weeks as Klopp considers bolstering his squad at Anfield during the mid-season transfer window.
The top player to have been linked with a transfer to Liverpool before Monday’s 23:00 GMT deadline is Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Alex Teixeira, who himself recent talked up his desire to move to the Anfield outfit.
However, when addressing the media at a news conference at Liverpool’s Melwood training ground on Monday afternoon, the German coach gave little away when quizzed about his plans.
Asked if he expects to sign any players before the deadline, Klopp replied: “I’m not sure what’s better for your work, which answer! I can say ‘maybe something happens’ or I can say the truth. What do you want to hear? [laughing]
“I’m not sure on the outgoing side, not 100 per cent sure. But I don’t think that something will happen on the other side. That’s the situation.”
Klopp and his Liverpool side are preparing for their Premier League trip to Leicester City on Tuesday night.
The Reds were held to a goalless draw by West Ham United in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday.
