Kurt Zouma’s wife Sandra was in the stands as Chelsea came from a goal down to earn a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.
The Chelsea defender’s partner will have looked on with concern after her husband had to be substituted in the second half at Stamford Bridge and was carried off on a stretcher after suffering a painful-looking knee injury.
Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Chelsea boss Guus Hiddink said that the club would have to wait until tomorrow to assess the extent of Zouma’s injury.
The Dutchman said: “Tomorrow we know more, but if you have this injury – and everyone has seen how bad it is – hyper-extension is always bad.
“I had this same problem once and it hurts. But let’s hope and see tomorrow what the MRIs will show.”
However, Zouma’s wife Sandra will no doubt be close to her husband on Sunday night after the thrilling 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
She posted the picture above on her personal Instagram account before Sunday’s draw and wrote: “Let’s go !! Chelsea Vs Manchester United. Come on blues!!!”
Jesse Lingard put the visitors ahead with a superb turn and shot into the top corner in the 61st minute.
Chelsea drew level in the 92nd minute when Diego Costa found a way past David De Gea and fired into the empty net.
