Latest Man United injury news: Midfielder suffers setback – report

Latest Man United injury news: Bastian Schweinsteiger could be out of action for as long as another month, say reports

Manchester United midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger could be set for another month on the sidelines due to a knee injury, according to reports.

The Germany international has been out of action since suffering the problem during the 1-0 FA Cup win over Sheffield United at the start of the month.

Now, Sport1 is reporting that Schweinsteiger will be out of action in the coming weeks after an MRI scan revealed that the veteran midfielder’s injury is worse than initially anticipated.

The reported setback in his recovery means that Schweinsteiger could miss the Premier League home game against Stoke on Tuesday, Stoke, the away games against Chelsea and Sunderland, the Europa League ties against Midtjylland and United’s FA Cup fifth-round match.

The midfielder has been a regular fixture in United’s first team since joining the club from Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window.
