Andy Gray states his prediction for Liverpool v Sunderland

Andy Gray looks ahead to Liverpool's home clash with Sunderland at Anfield on Saturday afternoon

Andy Gray is backing Liverpool to keep a clean sheet and ease to victory over Sunderland at Anfield in Saturday’s Premier League clash.

Jurgen Klopp’s men head into the game looking to return to winning ways after the disappointment of their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Leicester City on Tuesday night.

Liverpool are currently nine points adrift of the top four as they look to climb the Premier League table heading into the final 14 games of the season.

The Reds have struggled to find consistent form under Klopp since his appointment as Brendan Rodgers’ successor at Anfield back in October.

Liverpool have only won three of their last 10 Premier League games, but former Everton man Gray is expecting to see the Reds cruise to victory against the Black Cats this weekend.

Writing on his blog for Paddy Power, Gray said: “Liverpool are long odds on, but I’m not sure if their mentality is right considering they are still in the three cups. Sunderland are struggling for goals.

“Liverpool need to put the Leicester result behind them, and even though Big Sam will try and frustrate them, Jurgen Klopp should have enough knowledge to prevent a disaster.”
