Martin Keown discusses Arsenal's Premier League title hopes ahead of their clash with Leicester on Sunday

Martin Keown has told Arsenal that they must start claiming headline-grabbing results in the coming weeks if they want to fuel their Premier League title bid.

The Gunners head into Sunday’s showdown with Leicester City at Emirates Stadium in third place in the table and knowing that a win over the leaders would move them two points behind top spot heading into the final 12 games of the season.

Arsenal have beaten the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City this season but have struggled to find consistent form since the turn of the year.

Arsene Wenger watched his side return to winning ways with a 2-0 victory at Bournemouth last weekend as they bid to win their first title since their famous unbeaten triumph in 2003-04.

And former Arsenal defender Keown feels that the north London side need to start performing in the big games heading into the final few months of the season.

It was crucial that Arsenal because they have a massive month ahead of them, and they needed to restore some belief and find some momentum,” Keown told BBC Sport.

“The Gunners are going strong in three competitions – the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League – and have a big opportunity to land at least one trophy.

“If the Gunners are going to win the title again this year, then they have got to pull a big result out of the bag sooner or later. The next few weeks give them that chance to get a season-defining win of their own.”
