Memphis Depay sees the funny side of some recent newspaper coverage...

Memphis Depay has taken to social media to mock a newspaper story written about the Manchester United winger’s recent trip to a supermarket.

The Netherlands international is preparing for the Red Devils’ Premier League clash with Stoke City at Old Trafford on Tuesday night as he bids to help his side return to winning ways in the top flight.

The British media was largely focused on transfer deadline day on Monday, but this one story in the Daily Mail about Depay’s trip to a local supermarket clearly caught his eye.

Depay was quick to take to Twitter on Tuesday morning to poke fun at the coverage, as he posted the picture below of the story on his personal account and wrote: “The most important news of the past transfer deadline, lucky me.”

Depay has struggled to find consistent form for the Red Devils so far this season and has only managed to score two goals in 17 Premier League games for United.
