Johan Djourou wishes Laurent Koscielny and the rest of the Arsenal squad good luck ahead of Barcelona clash
Johan Djourou has sent a message of good luck to his former Arsenal team-mates ahead of Tuesday night’s clash against Barcelona.
The Switzerland international was part of Arsene Wenger’s side that secured their only victory over the La Liga champions in the Champions League era in 2011.
Andrey Arshavin and Robin van Persie cancelled out David Villa’s goal to seal a famous 2-1 victory, although Barcelona were 3-1 winners in the second leg.
Djourou proved that he still an Arsenal supporter despite leaving the north London club in 2014 after the 29-year-old took to his Instagram account ahead of Tuesday night’s game.
Djorou wrote: “Good luck tonight @arsenal and @koscielny_official6 and all the boys vs @fcbarcelona tonight, I am sure you guys will make the stadium rock like in 2011. #arsenalvsbarcelona #whatagame #greatmemories #gunners”
Arsenal are looking to reach the Champions League quarter-finals for the first time since 2010.
The Gunners have only beaten Barcelona once in nine attempts in the Champions League.
The Catalan side were 2-1 winners against 10-man Arsenal in the Champions League final in Paris in 2006.
