Juan Mata enjoyed an afternoon off in Manchester on Tuesday as he and his team-mates prepare for their Premier League trip to Sunderland on Saturday lunchtime.

The Spanish playmaker featured for most of the game as Manchester United were pegged back and held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Mata was given a warm reception by the Stamford Bridge faithful as he came up against his former club in west London.

Louis van Gaal’s men will be desperate to return to winning ways when they travel to the Stadium of Light on Saturday as they look to get their bid for a top-four finish back on track.

And Mata appeared to be in a relaxed mood on Monday, as he enjoyed a trip to Denmark Road in Manchester.

Mata posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “Denmark Rd. #Manchester”
