Marcos Rojo trains with his Manchester United team-mates ahead of FC Midtjylland clash on Thursday night

Marcos Rojo was all smiles with his Manchester United team-mates as the defender trained ahead of Thursday’s clash against FC Midtjylland.

The Red Devils are hoping to overturn a 2-1 deficit after a surprise defeat by the Danish champions in the first leg last week.

Louis van Gaal’s side ended a two-game losing streak ahead of their Europa League tie thanks to a 2-0 victory over Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup fifth round.

Rojo hasn’t featured for the 20-time English champions since November’s goalless draw with PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League group stage.

However, the 25-year-old Argentina international appears to be on the brink of a recovery from a shoulder injury.

The Red Devils are in fifth place in the Premier League table and six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City, who occupy the final Champions League qualifying spot.

United host Arsenal in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
