Sir Alex Ferguson was all smiles as he watched Manchester United be held to a 1-1 draw by Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon.

The former Red Devils boss was in the stands in west London as the visitors were pegged back by Diego Costa’s stoppage-time equaliser.

United had taken the lead in the second half thanks to Jesse Lingard’s stunning turn and shot in the box.

However, Louis van Gaal’s men were unable to hold on to claim the three points as Costa rounded David De Gea and slotted home late on.

Ferguson has been keeping a close eye on Manchester United’s games in recent weeks and was also spotted in the stands at Old Trafford during their 3-0 win over Stoke City.
