Piers Morgan has taken to social media to promise to take one Arsenal fan out for a meal when the Gunners next win the Premier League – but without Arsene Wenger as manager.

The north London side lost further ground in the title race on Tuesday night as they were held to a frustrating goalless draw by Southampton at Emirates Stadium.

The result allowed Tottenham Hotspur to leapfrog their bitter local rivals into third place in the Premier League table heading into the final 14 games of the season.

It also meant that Arsenal have now gone three Premier League games without scoring a goal as they prepare for Sunday’s trip to Bournemouth.

Celebrity Arsenal fan Morgan has regularly voiced his criticism of manager Wenger in recent seasons.

And the former Daily Mirror editor tweeted on Wednesday:
