Michael Owen states his prediction for PSG v Chelsea
Michael Owen looks ahead to Chelsea's crunch Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday night
Michael Owen is tipping Paris Saint-Germain to end Chelsea’s unbeaten run by beating the Blues in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The west London side head to the French capital for the first leg of their last 16 clash on the back of an impressive 5-1 win over Newcastle at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League on Saturday.
With the Blues languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table, the west London club’s best chance of qualifying for next season’s Champions League may come through winning the competition this term.
However, former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen is not expecting to see Chelsea beat the Ligue 1 leaders on Tuesday night.
Writing in his column for Bet Victor, former forward Owen said: “The French champions were my dark horses for the competition at the start of the season and I think they can take a lead back to the Bridge.
“PSG have not conceded a goal on home soil in the Champions League this season and will be delighted if they can keep the Blues at bay in what promises to be a terrific tie between two potential winners, with Chelsea going into the game in their best form of the season.”
Chelsea, who won the Premier League and League Cup last season, are unbeaten in all competitions since Jose Mourinho’s sacking by the west London club back in December.
