Rafael Nadal met the president of Argentina ahead of the Argentina Open in Buenos Aires
Rafael Nadal was all smiles as he met Argentina President Mauricio Macri ahead of his opening match of the ATP Buenos Aires tournament.
The Spaniard has been practising hard on clay as he bids to rediscover his top form this year following his disappointing first-round exit at the Australian Open last month.
Nadal is due to start his Argentina Open campaign on Thursday when he takes Juan Monaco in the second round.
Nadal posted the picture above of himself chatting with Macri on his personal Instagram account and wrote: “It was a pleasure to pass these minutes with @mauriciomacri President of #Argentina. Thank you for making me feel at home.”
Earlier this week, Nadal took to social media to reveal that he has been practising on clay with fellow Spaniard David Ferrer ahead of the tournament in Argentina.
The world No5 shared the picture of below of himself in action against Ferrer in practice and wrote: “First practice sessions in Buenos Aires… With David Ferrer!”
Nadal confirmed this week that he will be playing at the Aegon Championships at Queen’s Club in June in the lead-up to Wimbledon.
