Thierry Henry gives response about Arsenal, Tottenham’s title hopes
Thierry Henry discusses the Premier League title race after wins for Arsenal and Tottenham on Sunday
Thierry Henry is still backing Arsenal as the favourites to win the Premier League title this season – but admits that Tottenham Hotspur are very much in the race.
Both north London clubs recorded important wins on Sunday, with Arsenal coming from behind to beat 10-man Leicester City at The Emirates before Tottenham’s impressive 2-1 victory at Manchester City later in the day.
The result left Arsenal and Tottenham level on points and two behind leaders Leicester City heading into the final 12 games of the season.
And although form Arsenal striker Henry is still hoping the Gunners can win their first title since 2003-04, he feels that Tottenham must be taken seriously in the closing stages of the season.
Speaking on Sky Sports after Sunday’s games, former France international Henry said: “I think Arsenal [will win the league] if they can manage their fixtures.
“But there is one team that looks in control every time I see them – and that’s Tottenham. They look in control every single time I see them.”
Arsenal’s next Premier League game is a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United on 28 February, while Tottenham host Swansea on the same day.
