Diego Costa struck a stoppage-time equaliser as Chelsea battled back to earn a 1-1 draw against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon.

After a goalless first half at Stamford Bridge, Jesse Lingard put the visitors ahead with a stunning turn and shot into the top corner in the 61st minute in west London.

Chelsea pressed for an equaliser but were unable to find a breakthrough, with Branislav Ivanovic and Cesc Fabregas forcing good saves from Manchester United shot-stopper David De Gea.

However, the home side finally conjured an equaliser in the 92nd minute when the Spain striker found a way past De Gea and fired into the empty net.

The result left United in fifth place in the Premier League table and six points behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
