Arsenal legend Ian Wright: Why Tottenham scare me
Ian Wright explains why he frightened of Tottenham Hotspur this season
Ian Wright has warned Arsenal supporters to stop underestimating Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League title race.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side moved to within two points of leaders Leicester City on Sunday thanks to a 2-0 win against Premier League strugglers, Aston Villa.
Harry Kane scored either side of half-time to help Tottenham ended a three-game winless run as Spurs aim to win their first Premier League title.
Former Arsenal striker Wright says he is frightened by Tottenham’s character and consistency after their important Premier League win at Villa Park.
“It is all about mentality now. That games a tough game because they had to win,” Wright told BBC Radio Five Live.
“Those are type of games where people say typical Spurs where they go to Villa at the bottom of the table and lose. They’re not doing that anymore and it’s frightening.”
Spurs have won seven of their last nine Premier League games, including victories over Manchester City and Watford.
Arsenal are six points behind second-placed Tottenham, although Arsene Wenger’s side have played one Premier League game less than Pochettino’s side.
The Gunners rescued a 2-2 draw with Tottenham in the north London derby earlier this month after Alexis Sanchez’s late equaliser.
