Arsenal told to sign this Premier League star to reverse their fortunes
Stuart Pearce tells Arsenal to sign Yaya Toure in the summer transfer window
Stuart Pearce has urged Arsenal to make a transfer move to sign Yaya Toure from Manchester City in the summer transfer window.
The Gunners have come in for plenty of criticism in the last few weeks after a poor run of form left Arsene Wenger’s men with just one win from seven outings in all competitions.
Arsenal are believed to be on the lookout for reinforcements as the summer transfer window edges ever nearer.
And former England star Pearce feels that the north London side would be boosted by the arrival of Yaya Toure this summer, drawing comparisons to the signing of Petr Cech from Chelsea last summer.
Speaking to talkSPORT, Pearce said: “On his day Yaya Toure is outstanding. Arsenal need an old head within the team.
“Petr Cech has proved a fantastic success this year at Arsenal, and to have a player like Toure at the centre of midfield, as that holding type of player, I think he’d give one or two of the youngsters a bit of a lift.
“I think he’d be a good signing for them.”
Arsenal are currently gearing up for the return leg of their Champions League last 16 tie against Barcelona.
