Michael Owen states his prediction for Arsenal v Watford
Michael Owen looks ahead to Arsenal's clash with Watford in the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon
Michael Owen is backing Arsenal to coast to victory against Watford at Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon and book their place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
The Gunners head into the weekend’s clash having booked their place in the last eight of the cup competition with a convincing 4-0 win over Hull on Tuesday night.
Arsenal have been struggling to find consistent form in recent weeks but fought back from a goal down to earn a 2-2 draw against Tottenham at White Hart Lane last weekend.
Arsenal are bidding to win the FA Cup for the third straight season – and former Liverpool striker Owen is expecting to see Arsene Wenger’s men secure a convincing win over the Hornets in front of their home fans.
Writing in his column for Bet Victor, Owen said: “The Gunners have won 15 successive rounds of the FA Cup and they ought to make it 16 against a Watford side struggling for goals of late.
“The Hornets have won all three ties 1-0 to reach the last eight but their goal in the 5th Round against Leeds (an own goal) was the last time they found the back of the net!”
