Ashley Young has taken to social media to reveal his delight at watching Manchester United seal a 1-0 victory over Manchester City in Sunday’s derby clash.

Teenager Marcus Rashford continued his recent fine form by netting the only goal of the game in the 15th minute at Etihad Stadium as he coolly slotted home.

And Louis van Gaal’s men hung on to claim the victory and give their top-four hopes a significant boost.

Young is currently on the road to recovery from injury and sat out Sunday’s game, but the winger was clearly thrilled to see his team-mates clinch victory at The Etihad.

The England international tweeted:

The win left Manchester United in sixth place in the Premier League table and just one point behind City heading into the final eight games of the season.

Next up for the Red Devils is a home clash against Everton after the forthcoming international break.
