Michael Owen is backing Barcelona to heap yet more misery on Arsenal by dumping them out of the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Gunners have found themselves under intense pressure in recent days and were knocked out of the FA Cup by Watford on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal head to the Camp Nou on Wednesday night looking to overturn a 2-0 first-leg deficit and book their place in the quarter-finals of Europe’s elite club competition.

However, former Liverpool and Manchester United striker Owen does not feel that Arsenal have any chance of getting a result against the La Liga side, and is backing the home team to win to nil.

Writing in his column for Bet Victor, Owen said: “Arsenal travel to the Nou Camp as 33/1 outsiders to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Champions League but realistically they are even more unlikely on paper and would need a minor miracle to turn the Catalans over in their own backyard.

“Barcelona are the 1/5 favourites to win the return leg on home soil, but are in a similar position to Manchester City and can afford the luxury of sitting back and being patient throughout the 90.

“Arsene Wenger’s side will struggle to shut-out a front-three of Messi, Suarez and Neymar that have collectively netted 100+ goals already this term and look likely to fire them to victory against the Gunners.”

Arsenal, who are currently 11 points behind leaders Leicester in the Premier League table, travel to Everton in the top flight on Saturday lunchtime.
