Andy Gray states prediction for Bournemouth v Tottenham
Andy Gray believes Tottenham Hotspur will keep pace with Leicester in the Premier League titlerace
Andy Gray is backing Tottenham Hotspur to beat Bournemouth in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The north London side are in second place in the Premier League table and five points behind leaders Leicester City after last weekend’s 2-0 win at Aston Villa.
The Lilywhites have won six of their last eight Premier League games ahead of Sunday’s trip to England’s south coast.
Tottenham suffered a humbling 5-0 aggregate defeat by Borussia Dortmund on Thursday night after the German side secured a 2-0 win at White Hart Lane.
Former Aston Villa and Everton forward Gray reckons Spurs will have enough to get past a resilient Bournemouth side.
“Spurs are out of the Europa League so they can focus now on going on a fox hunt at the top of the table,” Gray told Paddy Power’s blog.
“They will know what they have to do because Leicester play on Saturday evening. They’ll win this one though but not without a fight from Bournemouth.
“Spurs have looked a little nervy in the last couple of games. Bournemouth look comfortable now that they’re safe, they don’t play negatively. But Spurs had a rest on Thursday, so the big boys will be back.”
Tottenham have conceded less goals than any other side in the Premier League this season.
Spurs were 2-0 winners against Aston Villa last time out thanks to Harry Kane’s brace either side of half-time.
