Michael Owen states his prediction for Crystal Palace v Liverpool
Michael Owen looks ahead to Liverpool's trip to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday
Michael Owen is backing Crystal Palace to frustrate Liverpool and hold the Reds to a 1-1 draw in Sunday’s Premier League clash at Selhurst Park.
The Reds head into the game looking to build on their impressive 3-0 win over Manchester City at Anfield on Wednesday night as Jurgen Klopp’s men gained revenge for their League Cup final defeat.
That win over City made it back to back victories for Klopp’s men in the top flight and moved them up to eighth place in the Premier League table.
The Reds travel to London to take on Alan Pardew’s Eagles on Sunday – but former Liverpool striker Owen is expecting to see the Merseyside outfit drop points at Selhurst Park.
Writing in his column for Bet Victor, Owen said: “Liverpool have led 1-0 and 3-0 in their last two Premier League fixtures at Selhurst Park but only picked up a solitary point in those games and I think it will be honours even again on Sunday.”
Liverpool finished sixth last season under Brendan Rodgers, who was replaced by Klopp at Anfield back in September.
The Reds take on Manchester United in the last 16 of the Europa League this month.
