Gary Lineker tweets his thoughts as Arsenal are beaten 2-1 by Watford in the FA Cup quarter-finals
Gary Lineker has taken to social media to pay tribute to Watford’s players after they secured a famous 2-1 win at Arsenal to knock the holders out of the FA Cup and reach the semi-finals.
Odion Ighalo gave Watford the lead in the 50th minute at Emirates Stadium with a neat finish, before Adlene Guedioura smashed home to make it 2-0 in the 63rd minute.
Arsenal failed to click into gear but pulled a goal back when Danny Welbeck smashed home from Mesut Ozil’s backheel to set up a tense finale.
But the Gunners were unable to find an equaliser as they were knocked out of the competition they have won for the last two years.
Lineker tweeted after the final whistle:
Well played Watford. Terrific effort. Enjoy Wembley!

And the former England star also used the result to poke fun at celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan as the Gunners prepare for their Champions League trip to Barcelona on Wednesday.
He added:
Don't get too down, Tubs @piersmorgan it's only Barcelona in the Nou Camp next.
