Glenn Hoddle has reserved special praise for Harry Kane, Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Danny Rose after they helped to inspire England to a memorable 3-2 comeback win over Germany in Saturday night’s friendly clash in Berlin.

The hosts went 2-0 up in the first half thanks to goals from Toni Kroos and Mario Gomez.

However, Kane pulled one back for the Three Lions with an excellent turn and shot after half-time, before Jamie Vardy’s neat flick made it 2-2 in the 74th minute.

And Tottenham midfielder Dier headed home the winner in the 91st minute to hand England a memorable 3-2 win in Berlin.

Alli missed a glorious chance to net the winner before Dier’s goal, and Rose played the full 90 minutes in Germany.

And former Spurs boss Hoddle was hugely impressed by the contribute of all four of Tottenham’s players during the game.

Writing in his column for the Daily Mail, Hoddle said: “With my Spurs connections, I’m obviously delighted to have seen four players from the club make a big contribution.

“Harry Kane and Eric Dier scored and Alli should have done with a late open goal, it was possibly the only thing he did wrong all night. Harry’s Cruyff turn was poignant as well given the great man’s passing last week.

“The fourth Tottenham player Danny Rose was as good as anybody. He was fantastic defensively and you know he can get forward.

“Dier’s winning goal came from Jordan Henderson having the right trajectory from the set-piece. Germany tried zonal marking but it doesn’t work when the attacker gets the run right. Dier got the run on Andre Schurrle.”
