Glenn Hoddle trolls Liverpool striker Christian Benteke

Glenn Hoddle jokes at Christian Benteke's expense during Liverpool's 3-0 win against Man City

Glenn Hoddle couldn’t resist a joke at Christian Benteke’s expense during his commentary on Wednesday night.

Liverpool roared to a 3-0 victory over Manchester City in the Premier League on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Adam Lallana, James Milner and Roberto Firmino.

Jurgen Klopp opted to hand Benteke a rare appearance from the bench at Anfield as the giant striker replaced compatriot Divock Origi.

And former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur manager Hoddle delivered a hilarious line during BT Sport’s coverage of the Premier League clash on Merseyside.

Benteke has fallen behind Daniel Sturridge and Origi in the pecking order at Anfield since the Liverpool strikers recovered from their respective injury problems.

Klopp opted to turn to Origi as an impact subsitute on Sunday afternoon as Liverpool lost 3-1 to the Citizens on penalties at the home of English football.
