Ian Wright says there is something wrong between Arsene Wenger and his Arsenal squad
Ian Wright has questioned whether the Arsenal players still respect Arsene Wenger.
The Gunners limped out of the FA Cup on Sunday afternoon after a 2-1 quarter-final defeat by Watford at the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal have lost three successive home games for the first time since 2006 after goals from Odion Ighalo and Adlene Guedioura secured a famous win for Watford.
The Gunners are eight points behind Leicester City in the title race, while Arsenal trail Barcelona 2-0 in the Champions League ahead of Wednesday night’s last-16 clash.
Speaking to BBC Radio Five Live on Sunday evening, former Arsenal striker Wright questioned the relationship between the manager and the players.
“He has a lot of faith in them, but I don’t see it coming back from them,” Wright said.
“There is something not quite right between the players and the manager.
“Do they respect him enough? Do they respond to him?
“They’re talking about a meeting the other day. It is very easy to say that after a 4-0 win against Hull.”
Leicester could move 11 points clear of third-placed Arsenal if the Foxes beat Newcastle United in the Premier League on Monday night.
