Ian Wright has his say after Arsenal beat Everton 2-0 to keep their Premier League title hopes alive
Ian Wright praised an impressive Arsenal performance after the Gunners beat Everton 2-0 to keep their title hopes alive on Saturday.
After a difficult week for the north London side, Arsenal took the lead in the seventh minute on Merseyside when Danny Welbeck finished off a superb attack by rounding the goalkeeper and tapping home.
And 19-year-old Alex Iwobi made it 2-0 with a calm finish after being put through on goal three minutes before half time.
The result left Arsenal third in the table and eight points behind leaders Leicester heading into the final eight games of the season.
And Wright was impressed by the north London side’s performance at Goodison Park.
Speaking on BT Sport after the final whistle, former Arsenal striker Wright said: “It’s a very, very good win.
“People can talk about Everton and about how poor they were. But I have to say, Mohamed Elneny and Francis Coquelin were very solid.
“It was very easy for Arsenal today but I’m just pleased they got that done.”
