Elneny, who joined Arsenal in the January transfer window from FC Basel, started the game and netted the Gunners’ equaliser in impressive fashion early in the second half at Camp Nou.
The Egypt international has been a regular fixture in the Arsenal first team in recent weeks and has been in largely impressive form for Arsene Wenger’s men.
And former Arsenal striker Wright believes that Elneny’s display was one of the major positives for Arsenal at Camp Nou.
Speaking on BT Sport after the final whistle, former striker Wright said: “I liked Elneny because he was closing down all day.
“He played very well, his link-up play was very, very good. When he eventually got the chance, he was very calm and guided it into the top corner.
“I’m delighted to see him playing because we signed him in January and he didn’t get to play. He wasn’t playing and I was thinking what was the point? Just get him on the pitch. He can obviously get a goal, too.”
Arsenal now turn their attentions back to the Premier League and their trip to Goodison Park to face Everton on Saturday lunchtime.
The Gunners are currently third and 11 points behind leaders Leicester City.
