Jamie Carragher reacts to the Europa League draw which pitted Liverpool against Jurgen Klopp's former employers
Jamie Carragher has welcomed Liverpool’s draw against Borussia Dortmund in Friday’s Europa League quarter-final draw.
The Reds were rewarded for beating bitter rivals Manchester United over two legs with a last-eight clash against Jurgen Klopp’s former employers.
Liverpool notched up a 2-0 first-leg lead thanks to goals from Daniel Sturridge and Roberto Firmino before Philippe Coutinho cancelled out Anthony Martial’s penalty in the second leg last night.
The Reds are bidding to win the competition for the first time since it became the Europa League but will have to get past a Dortmund side which beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-0 on aggregate.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher, who won the Uefa Cup at Westfalenstadion in 2001, took to Twitter following Friday’s Europa League quarter-final draw.
