Jamie Carragher reacts to Man United’s 1-0 loss at West Brom

Jamie Carragher was not impressed by Juan Mata's two bookings after Manchester United's 1-0 loss at West Brom

Jamie Carragher blasted Juan Mata for two “stupid” decisions after he was sent off early on during Manchester United’s 1-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion on Sunday afternoon.

The Spaniard was given his marching orders in the 26th minute at The Hawthorns after he received two yellow cards within three minutes to leave his team with an uphill task in the Premier League encounter.

Salomon Rondon scored the winner for the home side in the 66th minute when he fired home Sebastien Pocognoli’s left-wing cross.

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, former Liverpool defender Carragher said: “It’s just not Juan Mata.

“It’s just stupid, you don’t normally expect that. You’re always going to get a yellow card for that, it’s so unlike him.

“You can’t help but like Juan Mata, he’s one of those players who’s always got a smile on his face.”
