Jamie Carragher trolls Liverpool star over Jon Flanagan contract
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher jokes at Jose Enrique's expense
Jamie Carragher has made no secret of his admiration for Liverpool youngster Jon Flanagan.
The retired Reds centre-half was quick to urge Jurgen Klopp to start the 23-year-old full-back against Manchester City after Alberto Moreno’s performance in Sunday’s League Cup final.
The former Borussia Dortmund boss paid attention to Carragher’s advice as Flanagan started his first Premier League game since his comeback from injury at Anfield on Wednesday night.
The England international acquitted himself well against former team-mate Raheem Sterling, earning praise for an early challenge which left the Manchester City forward on the turf.
On Thursday morning, the Liverpool Echo ran a poll which asked whether Flanagan deserved a new Reds contract with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season.
And Carragher jokingly explained the one per cent who felt Flanagan didn’t warrant a new deal at the 18-time English champions.
The 1% must be Luis Enrique https://t.co/5Da2zPRSCU

Flanagan made his comeback from an 18-month spell on the sidelines before his comeback in January.
