John Aldridge is backing Liverpool to ease to a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 on Thursday night.

The Reds welcome their bitter Premier League rivals to Anfield fresh from a three-game winning streak in the English top flight.

Liverpool have scored 11 times in victories over basement club Aston Villa, fourth-placed Manchester City and Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace side.

The former Reds man is backing England striker Daniel Sturridge to fire 18-time English champions to victory at Anfield on Thursday night.

Liverpool are unbeaten in eight European games this season (W3 D5), and have not lost in six Uefa home matches (W3 D3).

Enhanced odds: Get 7/1 on Liverpool to beat Man Utd

They have not lost in eight UEFA Europa League home fixtures (W5 D3) since a 3-2 defeat by Udinese Calcio in the 2012/13 group stage.
