Jamie Redknapp states his prediction for Man City v Man United
Jamie Redknapp looks ahead to Manchester United's trip to Manchester City on Sunday
Jamie Redknapp is expecting to see Manchester City beat Manchester United in Sunday’s derby clash at Etihad Stadium.
The Red Devils head into the game looking to bounce back from the disappointment of their Europa League exit at the hands of Liverpool on Thursday night.
Louis van Gaal’s men have been widely criticised for their stuttering form in all competitions this season, with the Dutchman’s future under constant scrutiny.
However, United know that a win over their bitter local rivals would lift them to within just one point of City heading into the closing stages of the season.
But former Liverpool midfielder Redknapp is tipping the Citizens to have too much for the Red Devils at Etihad Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of Sunday’s clash, Redknapp said: “Neither side are in great form, but the bragging rights will be so important.
“United obviously lost to Liverpool in the Europa League, and although their second leg show was better, but the first was not good enough.
“I can’t see Louis van Gaal keeping his job next year, but he’ll want to go out with a bang.
“They’re against a City side who are hard to predict at home. They’ve obviously got Sergio Aguero, and although Vincent Kompany being out is a huge advantage to Manchester United, I just think Manchester City still have the better individuals, particularly with Aguero.
“I’m going for a City win with plenty of goals and plenty of action.”

United finished fourth under Van Gaal last season but were dumped out of the Champions League at the group stage back in December.
