Michael Owen states his prediction for Man City v Man United
Michael Owen looks ahead to Manchester United's trip to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon
Michael Owen is tipping Manchester United to struggle to get anything out of the game when the Red Devils travel to Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils head into the game looking to return to winning ways in the Premier League after the disappointment of their loss at West Bromwich Albion earlier this month.
Louis van Gaal’s men are aiming to break back into the top four before the end of the season and know that a win over their bitter local rivals would move them to within just one point of City.
United, who finished fourth under Van Gaal last season, have struggled to find consistent form in all competitions this term.
And Owen is expecting to see City seize the initiative in Sunday’s crunch derby clash at Etihad Stadium.
Writing in his column for Bet Victor, Owen said: “City moved smoothly into the quarter-finals of the Champions League in midweek, playing out a goalless draw with Dynamo Kiev at the Etihad, in a game that should serve as the perfect appetiser to Sunday’s main course when United arrive for a huge Manchester derby.
“The Red Devils struggled to get past West Ham in the FA Cup last weekend and, based on that effort, will struggle to turn City over at The Etihad.

“United’s defence have been decimated by injury and could prove vulnerable to the City trio of Raheem Sterling, David Silva and Sergio Aguero in the final third. ”
City are currently four points ahead of United in fourth.
