Man United to bid for Turkey international as part of summer overhaul – report

Manchester United are keen on signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Omer Toprak this summer, say reports

Manchester United are lining up a summer bid for Bayer Leverkusen defender Omer Toprak, according to reports.

United are expected to be one of the Premier League’s busiest clubs in the summer transfer window as the Red Devils look to bolster their squad to transform themselves back into title contenders.

It has been a disappointing season so far for Louis van Gaal’s men, with the Red Devils currently outside of the Champions League places in the table.

As the attention gradually turns towards the summer transfer window, United have sent scouts to watch Toprak in recent weeks ahead of a potential summer swoop, according to The Sun.

The same report also states that United are desperate to bolster their defensive options ahead of next season.

The newspaper story goes on to cite United’s reported interest in signing Raphael Varane and Sergio Ramos, as well as Barcelona star Marc Bartra in recent weeks.
