Daniel Sturridge states his prediction for Man Utd v Liverpool

Daniel Sturridge looks ahead to Liverpool's trip to Manchester United on Thursday night

Daniel Sturridge has warned Manchester United that Liverpool will approach Thursday night’s Europa League clash at Old Trafford in exactly the same manner as they did at Anfield last week.

The Reds secured a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Sturridge and Roberto Firmino on Merseyside as Jurgen Klopp’s men took a big step towards qualification for the quarter-finals of Europe’s second tier club competition.

Liverpool have had a free weekend to prepare for the game as they look to knock their bitter local rivals out of the competition.

United, meanwhile, had to come from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against West Ham United in the FA Cup quarter-finals at Old Trafford.

And Liverpool striker Sturridge is expecting the Reds to approach the game with an attacking mindset.

Sturridge is quoted as saying by Liverpool’s website: “We’ll approach the second leg exactly the same as we did the first leg. That’s the only way we know.

“The Liverpool way is to win games so we will go into the second leg and be positive.

“The confidence is there within the camp and we are just looking forward to every game. We are mentally prepared for every job we have ahead of us.”

United will take on West Ham in an FA Cup quarter-final replay at Upton Park for a place in the semis against Everton at Wembley.
