The Argentina international has recently returned to Louis van Gaal’s starting line-up after an injury-dominated season for the United defender so far.
Louis van Gaal has turned to 22-year-old Guillermo Varela as the United boss attempted to cope with the injury crisis at Old Trafford.
And Rojo revealed that he has struck up a close friendship with the Uruguayan defender, evening enlisting the youngster as his match-day chauffeur.
“I am very happy for him as he has been playing well,” Rojo told MUTV.
“It’s not too long since we met and we’ve become mates. He’s also my chauffeur! He takes me to all the matches as we live close by, so he’s been doing all the driving which is fine by me.
“In the last few months we have spent a lot of time together and we have become really good mates. He’s a really good guy, a great person and a big player for United.”
Rojo was unable to help the Red Devils avoid a 1-0 loss to West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon.
Varela has made eight appearances for the 20-time English champions so far this season.
The South American scored one goal in 33 appearances for Real Madrid’s B team during a loan spell last season.
United make the trip to bitter rivals Liverpool in the Europa League on Thursday night.
