Mohamed Elneny reflects on his full Premier League debut with Arsenal at Tottenham
Mohamed Elneny has taken to social media to reveal his delight at making his first Premier League start for Arsenal during Saturday’s dramatic 2-2 draw at Tottenham Hotspur.
The Egypt international, who joined the Gunners from FC Basel during the January transfer window, played 75 minutes as Arsenal came from a goal down to earn a point at White Hart Lane thanks to Alexis Sanchez’s late goal.
It marked Elneny’s second appearance in the Premier League, and the midfielder was clearly delight to get a taste of top-flight action.
Elneny shared the picture above on his personal Instagram account on Sunday afternoon and wrote: “Thank God for the first game in the starting line-up in the Premier League. I would have liked to win with the team, but the next best.”
The midfielder will be hoping to feature when Arsenal turn their attentions towards their FA Cup trip to Hull City on Tuesday night.
Saturday’s draw at Tottenham left Arsenal in third place in the Premier League and three points behind Spurs heading into the final nine games of the season.
