Morgan Schneiderlin says Marcus Rashford reminds him of Anthony Martial after the teenager’s stunning introduction to the Manchester United first-team.

Rashford, 18, scored twice on his first-team debut in the Europa League last week, before netting another brace in the 3-2 win over Arsenal at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.

The youngster has earned plenty of new admirers for his fearless style of play and his sparkling displays for Louis van Gaal’s side.

Martial has also been in impressive form for United since his arrival at the club from Monaco in the summer transfer window.

And midfielder Schneiderlin was full of praise for Rashford after his unforgettable week for the Red Devils.

Speaking to United’s website, Schneiderlin said: “It is amazing for him. He reminds me a bit of Anthony [Martial], the way that he started, scoring against Liverpool and against Southampton.

“It’s the same for Marcus; he is a very good player.

“He didn’t train [with the first team] many times, but when he did train we could see straight away that he had this quality.

“On Thursday he showed it and he showed it again [on Sunday]. I hope he continues like that, because he is an exciting prospect for the football club.”
