Paul Scholes reacts to Liverpool’s 3-0 victory over Man City
Paul Scholes believes Liverpool could get into the top four if Jurgen Klopp's side show some consistency
Paul Scholes says Liverpool could finish in the top four if Jurgen Klopp’s side put a consistent run together in their final 11 Premier League games.
The Reds secured a resounding 3-0 victory over League Cup winners Manchester City at Anfield on Wednesday night thanks to goals from Adam Lallana, James Milner and Roberto Firmino.
Liverpool hoisted themselves above Chelsea and into eighth place in the Premier League table thanks to their fifth home win of the season in the English top-flight.
The Merseyside outfit have only won eight games and have lost six times since Klopp took over the reins at Anfield from Brendan Rodgers in October.
Former Manchester United midfielder Scholes challenged Liverpool to start playing more consistency if the Reds want to make a late surge for the top four.
“It has been the same for every team in the top eight or top nine. If Liverpool put a good run together, they could possibly get the top four,” Scholes told BT Sport.
Scholes continued: “Liverpool were brilliant. They bullied them. Every single player was great.”
Liverpool are six points behind fourth-placed City following Wednesday night’s 3-0 win.
