Paul Scholes: This Man United signing has been really poor

Paul Scholes admits he has been left disappointed by Memphis Depay's displays for Manchester United

Paul Scholes says that he is yet to be impressed by Memphis Depay following his big-money transfer to Manchester United last summer.

The Dutchman has failed to produce consistent performances for the Red Devils this season in the wake of his arrival form PSV Eindhoven.

Depay, 22, has only managed to score two Premier League goals for Louis van Gaal’s men so far this season and failed to make an impact as United were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool in the first leg of their Europa League last 16 clash at Anfield on Thursday night.

And former United midfielder Scholes admits that he has been left disappointed by what he has seen from Depay since his arrival in England.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Scholes said: “Now even if Memphis does get into positions, he has been poor.

“In games against the top teams, his quality has been really poor.”

Depay will be expecting to feature when United take on West Ham at Old Trafford in their FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday afternoon.
