Petr Cech took to social media to praise David Ospina for his brilliant first-half save to deny Lionel Messi in the first half of Arsenal’s 3-1 Champions League loss by Barcelona on Wednesday night.

The Colombia international, who has been covering for the injured Cech in recent games, produced a stunning save from close range to stop Messi from scoring in the first half at Camp Nou.

Unfortunately for Ospina and Arsenal, goals from Neymar, Luis Suarez and Messi eventually wrapped up a 3-1 win for the Spanish side at Camp Nou.

However, Arsenal’s first-choice goalkeeper was clearly impressed by Ospina’s display against the Catalan outfit.

Cech tweeted on Wednesday night:

Arsenal now turn their attentions back to the Premier League and their trip to Everton on Saturday lunchtime.

The Gunners currently trail Premier League leaders Leicester City by 11 points.
