Firmino has earned plenty of new admirers for his impressive performances for the Reds so far this season, with the Brazilian scoring Liverpool’s second goal in their 2-0 win over Manchester United in the Europa League last week.
The 24-year-old has been a regular fixture in Jurgen Klopp’s first team this term and has scored nine goals in all competitions while also notching up eight assists for his team-mates.
And his fellow compatriot Coutinho has been very impressed by Firmino’s recent displays for the Reds as Klopp’s men prepare for the return leg of their Europa League clash at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
Speaking to Liverpool’s website, Coutinho said: “He is a great player, as I always said before he arrived. The other players and I are very happy to have him with us. He is a key component in our current team.
“As Lucas has said, he is a guy that seems like he is going to score in every game, he assists, so he has been very important and I am happy to see him doing well and helping the team.
“We can see Firmino has adapted very quickly. He is an amazing guy on the field and off the field as well. We are very happy.”
Liverpool had a free weekend to prepare for Thursday’s trip to Old Trafford, while United were held to a 1-1 draw by West Ham in the FA Cup.
