Adam Lallana posts message to Liverpool supporters ahead of Wednesday night's Man City clash

Adam Lallana has issued a Liverpool rallying cry ahead of Wednesday night’s clash against Manchester City at Anfield.

The Reds suffered disappointment in Sunday’s League Cup final after a 3-1 defeat by City in a dramatic penalty shootout at Wembley.

Lallana missed Liverpool’s fourth penalty in the shootout as Jurgen Klopp’s side squandered the chance to win a ninth League Cup.

However, the Reds have the chance to make amends for their final disappointment on Wednesday as Manuel Pellegrini’s side travel to Anfield.

The England midfielder took to Instagram to post a motivational message intended for his team-mates and the club’s supporters ahead of kick off.

Lallana wrote on the photo-sharing app: “Match day! Focused on moving forward from Sundays defeat and securing the 3 points tonight 👍🏼🔴 #YNWA”

Liverpool are in tenth place in the Premier League table and nine points adrift of fourth-placed City.
